Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the added 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the were Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:), which rose 4.85% or 221.00 points to trade at 4,782.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Shikun & Binui (TASE:) added 2.73% or 27.00 points to end at 1,017.00 and Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:) was up 2.47% or 56.00 points to 2,320.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Strauss Group (TASE:), which fell 0.82% or 57.00 points to trade at 6,856.00 at the close. Nova (TASE:) declined 0.77% or 380.00 points to end at 48,920.00 and Elbit Systems Ltd (TASE:) was down 0.41% or 320.00 points to 76,980.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 292 to 187 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Strauss Group (TASE:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.82% or 57.00 to 6,856.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.94% or 0.71 to $74.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.71% or 0.57 to hit $80.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.99% or 20.55 to trade at $2,090.35 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was unchanged 0.01% to 3.62, while EUR/ILS rose 0.62% to 4.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 100.63.
