Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.68%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 0.68%, while the index declined 0.73%, and the index lost 1.07%.

The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (ETR:), which rose 3.53% or 1.68 points to trade at 49.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) added 1.89% or 1.72 points to end at 92.60 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) was up 1.32% or 2.55 points to 196.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:), which fell 3.34% or 1.12 points to trade at 32.38 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.49% or 0.82 points to end at 32.05 and SAP SE (ETR:) was down 2.22% or 2.86 points to 126.02.

The top performers on the MDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which rose 2.05% to 25.88, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was up 1.73% to settle at 61.70 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) which gained 1.47% to close at 106.80.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 3.63% to 34.81 in late trade, Stroeer SE (ETR:) which lost 3.50% to settle at 41.36 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.32% to 6.81 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which rose 2.05% to 25.88, Kontron AG (ETR:) which was up 1.43% to settle at 19.84 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which gained 0.40% to close at 40.50.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 3.63% to 34.81 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which lost 3.10% to settle at 219.00 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.10% to 29.09 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 397 to 236 and 105 ended unchanged.

Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.73% or 1.05 to 61.70.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.17% to 17.23.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 2.45 to $1,945.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.29% or 0.23 to hit $79.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.21 to trade at $83.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 103.79.
