Week’s Best: What Makes a Person Wealthy? Schwab Asked Investors.

Americans have starkly differing perceptions about what makes a person wealthy. Charles Schwab polled 1,000 U.S. investors and found that while they rank themselves as wealthy with an average net worth of $560,000, they alighted on a figure of $2.2 million as a yardstick of wealth for others. That signals that more Americans are focused on nonfinancial factors such as family and health as they gauge their own wealth.
