By Pierre Bertrand

Stadler Rail said Thursday that Azienda Transporti Milanesi has ordered high-capacity vehicles and signed a framework agreement for up to 50 new trams for the Italian city of Milan.

The agreement includes up to 25 medium-capacity and up to 25 high-capacity Tramlink trams and a five-year warranty for each vehicle, Stadler said.

The Switzerland-based rail manufacturer added that Milan’s municipal public transport company ordered 14 high-capacity vehicles in a first call-off.

Stadler said the 14 will be delivered before June 30, 2026.

No financial details were disclosed.
