Songwriters sue Twitter over music copyright violations

Songwriters sued Twitter on Wednesday, alleging the company violates their copyrights by using their music on the platform without permission.

“The Twitter platform, which Elon Musk purchased in 2022 for $44 billion, is rife with copyright infringement, the National Music Publishers’ Association said in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Nashville, Tenn., that asserts the company’s “unlawful conduct enriches Twitter at publishers’ and their songwriters’ expense.”
