SEC, Gartner Reach $2.5M Settlement

The Securities and Exchange Commission said Friday that it has reached a settlement with Gartner in relation to an alleged schedme to obtain and retain business from the South Africa Revenue Service.

The U.S. agency said the research and consulting company has 10 days to pay a civil penalty of $1.6 million, as well as a disgorgement of $675,974, along with prejudgment interest of $180,790.

“This matter concerns Gartner’s violations of the anti-bribery, books and records, and internal accounting control provisions,” the SEC said in a filing.
