Resolute Mining’s Resources Estimate at Syama Gold Mine in Mali Rises 46%

By Christian Moess Laursen

Resolute Mining said the measured and indicated resources at Syama North in the Syama gold mine in Mali increased by 46% following an infill drilling programme.

The Africa-focused gold miner said the measured and indicated resources has risen to 2.72 million ounces from 1.86 million ounces, still with a grading of 3.0 gram gold per ton.

A so-called indicated resource is a resource whose properties can confidently be proven, while a so-called measured resource represents the highest level of knowledge and confidence in a resource.

The Syama gold mine’s total measured and indicated resource now stands at 9.1 million ounces, which the company believe can support an operation larger than the phase one expansion currently going ahead, it said.

A reserve update at Syama North is set to be completed in September or October, the company said.
