Hut 8 Mining Gets Court Green Light to Hold Shareholder Meeting

By Adriano Marchese

Hut 8 Mining said Monday that it received an interim order from a Canadian provincial court to hold a special meeting of its shareholders, a step closer to combining with U.S. Data Mining Group.

The Toronto-based digital asset miner said the interim order from the Supreme Court of British Columbia was required to a hold a special meeting of the shareholders to approve the merger arrangement with U.S. Data Mining Group, which does business as US Bitcoin.

The special meeting is scheduled for Sept. 12.

The requisite approval from the shareholders and a final order from the Supreme Court of British Columbia are both requirements from the transaction to complete.
