Funko Says Director, Ex-CEO Brian Mariotti Resigns From Company

By Stephen Nakrosis

Toy maker Funko said Friday that Brian Mariotti, who served on the board and had previously stepped down as the company’s chief executive officer, has resigned effective Sept. 1.

The resignation from the board and company wasn’t due to “any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices,” Funko said.

In July, Mariotti stepped down as CEO and took a leave of absence from the company, with full support from the board of directors, Funko said. Mariotti had served as the company’s CEO and as chief creative officer before once again being appointed to lead the company in December of 2022. He had been a member of Funko’s board since its formation in April 2017, the company said.

Also on Friday, Mariotti entered into an advisor agreement to provide consulting and advisory services to Funko.
