Bombardier Says Supply Chain Unaffected by Strike at Spirit AeroSystems

By Ben Glickman

Bombardier said on Friday that the company’s supply chain won’t be affected by a strike at a Spirit AeroSystems plant.

The Montreal-based airplane manufacturer said assembly and delivery will go on as planned since it does not require deliveries from Spirit’s shut facility in Wichita, Kan. to continue operating.

Wichita-based Spirit suspended production Friday after union workers rejected a proposed labor contract and voted to strike.

Spirit said it would resume negotiations with representatives of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers on Saturday.
