ADRs End Lower, Ericsson, BRF and Vallourec Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Friday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 0.6% to 157.67. The European index declined 0.4% to 151.86, the Asian index was 0.8% lower at 183.41, the Latin American index dropped 1.4% to 206.08 and the emerging markets index fell 0.9% to 306.89.

ADRs of Ericsson on Friday closed 12% lower at $5.03 after the Swedish telecommunications-equipment company posted disappointing third-quarter guidance that missed analyst expectations.

ADRs of BRF closed down 7.1% to $1.82 after the Brazilian food company announced the price it received for the sale of new shares. It sold 600 million new shares at 9.0 Brazilian reais each, raising a total of BRL5.4 billion.

ADRs of Vallourec closed 4.7% higher at $2.65 after the French steel-tube maker said it was expecting its second-quarter results to exceed its prior expectations on its performance in the Middle East and because of smaller anticipated losses in Germany.
