By Denny Jacob

International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Friday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts retreated 1.4%, to 152.30. The European index edged down 1.1%, to 147.54. The Asian index lost 2%, to 174.44. The Latin American index shed 1.2%, to 206.43, while the emerging-markets index sank 1.5%, to 293.75.

Biodexa Pharmaceuticals was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company tumbled 15% after changing its ADR ratio to one ADR for every 400 ordinary shares from one ADR for every five ordinary shares, effective July 5.

Missfresh also shed 15% following news earlier in the week that it received notice from the Nasdaq Stock Market that its closing bid price for its American depositary shares over the last 30 consecutive business days was below the minimum bid price per share requirement.
